Valerie and Dan Hall married in 1974, pastored from 1982-2000, and began Midwest Chaplains in 2000. They are the parents of eight children and have six grandchildren.
Valerie was born in Minneapolis, attended high school in Nebraska, and graduated from St. Mary’s in Minneapolis where she received her R.N. After her first child was born, she chose to stay at home full time and eventually home schooled her children through high school. Currently she is teaching the youngest two at home.
In 2005 Valerie continued her education with Northwestern College in St. Paul and received her B.S. degree in psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family. In early 2008, she joined the Volunteer Burnsville Chaplains and had the privilege of assisting and working with families at the 35W Bridge Collapse.
As self-supported ministers with the conscious view of being a team, Valerie and Dan have always focused on the importance of personal relationships while serving in organizational development and leadership. While assisting Dan in leading various churches, their home became central in welcoming and entertaining guests of all ages and from all walks of life. Valerie has organized and hosted various retreats, as well as served as guest speaker. During the three years she and Dan pastored in Northfield, she took an active role at the crisis-pregnancy center.
In the wake of our national and community disasters, Valerie received training in Crisis Intervention Stress Management (CISM) through International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) and Green Cross Academy of Traumatology.
