Chaplain Marla Turner
Marla Turner works as a certified Christian grief counselor in private practice since 2002, and is on the MN state roster as a mediator, serving in both the civil and family court systems, and in private practice.
She currently holds the position of Chaplain in Grant County, MN, working with the Grant county Sheriff’s department, emergency departments, and the local hospital, as well as with the community as a whole. Alongside the chaplaincy, Marla also works with hospice patients in Grant and surrounding communities.
Marla holds membership in the American Association of Christian Counselors, the Green Cross, and Midwest Chaplains.
In her spare time, Marla continues as a music teacher in the towns of Fergus Falls and Dalton, MN. She has been teaching music since 1977, both in private practice and in the school system after attending the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point.
Marla Turner is the proud mother to ten children. Her husband died of cancer in 2001.
She grew up in Minnesota and has returned to raise her family there after a brief change of temperature in Austin, TX. Marla and her children attend Life Church – a non-denominational Christian Church located in Fergus Falls, MN. She resides in West-Central MN.
Marla’s desire is to help point grieving and traumatized people to their only true source of peace – the cross of Jesus Christ. Marla has personally experienced grief and trauma, and has allowed the Lord and those experiences to reshape her life, thus allowing her to walk with true empathy alongside others going through similar valleys, helping them to find their way out of the despair, and into the peace and healing available in the Holy Spirit, the True Comforter.
“He will be gentle…He will not break the bruised reed nor quench the dimly burning flame. He will encourage the fainthearted, those tempted to despair.” Isaiah 42:2-3
